Each year, the jury rewards sound creation in its broadest dimension, i.e. musical and artistic, but also related to sound design (sound ambiance, special effects, voice quality, spatialization, sound level, image/sound relationship). At the heart of one of the most prestigious international film festivals, it is part of an initiative to promote the role of sound, led by the association “La Semaine du Son” (Week of Sound) as an extension of its awareness-raising campaign “UNESCO Week of Sound”, organized every January since 2004.
