2nd UNESCO Brazil Sound Week

Brazil and sound: where are we now and where are we going?
Throughout April 2023

The initiative is led by Professor Thamara Suzi dos Santos, from the Department of Speech Therapy at UFMG’s Faculty of Medicine, having spent three years in France, two of them linked to the “ Unesco Sound Week “, as the researcher responsible for the pioneering study on compressed music, in collaboration with Professor Paul AVAN, Director of the Centre for Research and Innovation in Human Audiology at the Institut Pasteur, who shares the directorship with Dr. Isabella Monteiro Castro Silva, Professor of Speech Therapy at UNB.

Belo Horizonte and Brasilia hosted the second edition in Brazil, with a contemporary theme that is omnipresent in every household: “the volume and compression of sounds broadcast by the media”.
