Edition 2024

Soundtrack composer

In a career spanning 15 years, Erwan Castex aka Rone has established himself as a major talent on the French electronic music scene.

With six albums and numerous collaborations to his credit, Rone has regularly stepped out of his comfort zone, coloring outside the lines of electronic music and crossing French borders.

The year 2020 marks a turning point in the artist’s career, with “ Room With a View “A carte blanche created at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris with (La)Horde and the Ballet national de Marseille. After winning the César for Best Original Score for ” La Nuit Venue ” by Frédéric Farrucci in March 2020, Rone won the Cannes Soundtrack Prize for “ The Olympics “directed by Jacques Audiard.

It was during the COVID crisis that Rone put out a call to singer friends, asking them to enrich tracks that had previously been instrumental, giving birth to the album “ Rone & Friends “.
More recently Rone presented “ L(oo)ping “A project in which synthesizers and classical orchestra merge for concert-events. “ L(oo)ping “is also a film, an album to be released in June 2023, and a series of concerts in Europe.

Rone has found his niche in melodic electro, marked by organic and acoustic influences, and we are honored that “ Kodama “The new sound creation for the “Quand le son crée l’image 2024” competition.
