Padeloup Orchestra

Sponsor of the 21st edition of UNESCO’s Week of Sound The oldest French symphony orchestra in operation, the Orchestre, which today bears his name, was founded in 1861 by Jules Pasdeloup. He performs an eclectic repertoire, ranging from the great classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, musical comedies and new creations with jazz, cinema, body arts or multi-orchestras. Driven by the enthusiasm, rigor and passion of its ninety member musicians, the Orchestre Pasdeloup is self-administered and defines its own programming, productions and musical orientations. Its originality also lies in the fact that it has no permanent conductor: the musicians invite the world’s greatest conductors on a regular basis each season.
