Dr. Shelly Chadha
Responsable du programme Prévention de la surdité et de la déficience auditive à l’Organisation Mondiale de la Santé (OMS), elle participera à l’ouverture de la 14e Semaine du Son au Ministère de la Santé lundi 23 janvier 2017 à 18h.
Médecin oto-rhino-laryngologiste, Docteur Chadha, est également titulaire d’un PhD en santé publique. Ses recherches portent sur l’application des principes de santé publique au domaine de la santé auditive. Elle y a consacré ses 15 dernières années.
Elle fut la principale personne ressource dans le développement et la mise en œuvre du Programme national de prévention et de contrôle de la surdité en Inde et a contribué au développement du secteur dans la région du Sud-Est asiatique via le concept Sound Hearing 2030.
Shelly Chadha a également joué un rôle clé dans le développement de différents outils de formation en matière de santé auditive ; des outils de sensibilisation à l’échelle régionale et nationale ; des outils notamment dédiés à l’audition infantile en Inde et en Asie.
Depuis 2011, Docteur Shelly Chadha dirige le Programme de Prévention de la surdité et de la déficience auditive pour l’OMS. Elle est en charge de l’élaboration du programme mondial en matière de santé auditive pour l’OMS, mettant en place des stratégies de sensibilisation et fournissant aux états membres de l’OMS, les outils techniques pour le développement, la mise en œuvre et la surveillance des plans de santé auditive.

She has been a key resource person in the development and implementation of the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness in India and has contributed to the development of this field in the South East Asia region, through the concept of ‘Sound Hearing 2030’. She has played a pivotal role in the developmental of various types of training materials in primary ear & hearing care ; awareness material at national and regional level ; concept, protocol and materials related to infant hearing screening in India and in Asia. Retour ligne automatique
Since 2011, she has been leading the WHO programme for prevention of deafness and hearing loss. She is responsible for shaping the global hearing health agenda on behalf of WHO, undertaking advocacy and providing technical support to WHO Member States in development, implementation and monitoring of ear and hearing care plans.
